ALZHEIMER'S DISEAESE WITH AIT

Because most Dementia related illnesses (such as Alzheimer's Disease) are age related most of our residents are elderly and therefore require a different approach to there therapy, and well being while attending Berard's Method Center.

Practitioner Gunnur Curmak has also ventured into the field of elderly health care and currently administrates three of her own Board and Care facilities known as Mission Home Board and Care located in San Diego California.

Music therapy has been proven as a successful means of communication for those having language barriers. Music has been said to be pre-verbal and is pan-cultural.
The elements of music such as rhythm, pitch, melody and emotions are also tied in the music learning in Auditory Integration Training sessions thereby activating the limbic system.
Music therapist and Auditor Alicia Ann Clair identifies four main benefits for those with late stage Dementia:

Changes in facial expressions

Increased eye movement

Elevated Vocal Activity

Better physical ability

There are many degenerative illnesses associated with old age. Among the most devastating are Dementia related illnesses such as Alzheimer's Disease.

At Berard's Method Center we believe in an open minded approach to the potential benefits of Auditory Integration Training (AIT) can bring a measure of hope and relief to you and your loved ones.
